Colored nails!
It's been a long time since I did my nails. I used to do them quite often and always keep both toe and finger nails neat. But I got bored of doing it for a while. Now with spring around the corner I can feel the need of colors on my 10 fingers and toes ;). I started today, nothing very summery, gray and nude. But I gotta save the best colors for when it's not below zero outside! :)

So different but still the same!
Spring is coming! Today I already saw the pussy willows blooming!

Things I love with spring:
1. Bare streets
2. Spring sun
3. The melting snow
4. The feeling that everything is possible
5. When you can start taking out you summer shoes
6. Not having to have tons of clothes on anymore
7. Longer days
8. The excitement of knowing that the winter is about to end, and summer is coming
9. When suddenly spring and sunshine are the things everyone is talking about
10. Outdoor coffee
11. Energy
12. Smiles, everywhere!
It's funny how the change of the season, again, thrills me. That's one of the reasons I love living in Finland. I love our four seasons.
I always find myself waiting with a childlike excitement for the next season to come, with all that it has to bring with it. Many who know me know that I often call myself an autumn person. Despite that I now have to say that I am so exited for spring and summer to come. Spring and summer always have that dreamy touch to them. It's like your mind can rest and living is easy. You can just dream away and not worry about tomorrow.
This time of year so full of opportunities, and so full of energy. Spring still feels the same as it did when I was a child! As soon as the streets were not covered in snow, you could put on lighter shoes and take out your bike. The nights get lighter and lighter and you could stay out later. The countdown to summer break could start.
Even if today there is no summer break anymore, and life looks a whole lot different, spring still feels the same to me.

Sunny sunday!
What a great morning! So sunny and bright. And an early wake-up without an alarm. The whole day left to do things. Time to enjoy a big morning coffee and listen to spring music. I have different playlists for the different seasons and also for different moods. This morning I chose between my "spring all around" playlist and "morning tunes". Spring won, and that was a good choice :).
Wonderchild - Christian Walz
One of my all time favorites around spring. It just always makes it feel like the summer is near and life is easy.
I hope you all have a good sunday!
and if someone of you has a favorite song they wanna share that gives that great feeling, please share them! I should update my playlists a bit :)

Changes, changes.
So much going on but still so little. Changes in plans. Hopefully good ones. It feels good, refreshing. I took a jump, left the known for a little while. With hopes and excitement for the unknown. Alive. That's what it feels like. And spring is coming.

Friends!
Just a little note to tell all of my dear friends how much you mean to me. Everyday. Not only today on valentine's day. Thank you for making life what it is; beautiful!

Thank you for changing my life! I hope to have changed a life or two too <3

Surprising oneself
Yesterday I told that I was trying to knit socks. Something I have wanted to learn, but have always then thought that no, maybe later, or maybe I should take a class.. People have always scared me and said that especially the "heel" is difficult.
Well so yesterday when I had been preparing myself for failure, or whatever it would turn out to be, I decided that I will never know unless I try. So I tried. Today it already looks like a sock. I have impressed myself. And it feels good.
Yes I know, it's maybe a bit of a nerdy subject to surprise oneself with. But at least my feet are gonna be warm!

Friday - and life feels better!
So, it has been quiet lately here around the blog. The blame for that I put mostly on being sick.. Both me and my Love have been sick, he more than me, but still. So that has kept us occupied the past few weeks, with running back and forth to the doctor and hospital and coughing and trying to remember when to take which colored pill ;). Now it's feeling a bit better though, so hopefully this pneumonia-shenanigan is behind us now.
Here's a bit what's been going on in our humble home during these weeks:

Some candles to keep up the spirits..
Puzzling...
I am trying to learn how to knit socks..let's see what happens...
And a lot of this; sleeping, reading, watching tv and some more sleeping...
And tonight we are celebrating feeling a bit better with burgers and American Idol :)
Have a good weekend!

Happy New Year!
Hey you all and Happy New Year 2012!
I know it has been a bit quiet around the blog, sorry for that. There has just been so much going on. First Christmas and a lot of things going on right before and then just slowing down and relaxing with family and friends over the holiday. I hope you all had a good Christmas and had time to charge the batteries for this new year! <3
Then over new years, and for a few weeks into this new year we flew over the ocean to celebrate with family and friends over there. We brought in the new year in the windy city of Chicago, in the best of companies. It-s gonna be a good one!
Then we spent a few weeks back at Love's family's place. Did some fantastic shopping and just relaxed and spent time with family.
In between all of this I have been sick a few times, which has stolen my energy. But it's all getting better now.
So now I am looking forward to getting back to everyday life and to see what this new year has in store for me. I have a feeling it will be a good year!

what i should do vs. what i do
I have been having a bit of a flu the last week, and decided to stay home and get rid of it today. At the same time I thought it would be a good idea to work at some school things, but...somehow I again find myself doing everything but that.
Maybe some glögi will inspire me?!
I'll try at least. If I would get at least one or 2 assignments done today, then I would be proud of myself. And then I can have a glass of red tonight. DEAL.

it's the little things
There are many little things in life that I enjoy very much, sometimes I even wonder what makes them so enjoyable.
For one, fresh sheets. There is nothing better than the feeling when you can slip in between fresh, crisp sheets and relax.
Early early mornings. You know those kinds when you have to go nowhere, but you still wake up super early.
Candles. There is nothing to explain here, they just bring that little extra.
A glass of wine. Or my morning latte.
And the streets of Helsinki when it's quiet out. We have a beautiful city.
These were just a few... but the bottom line is; life is beautiful, in all its simplicity. So enjoy! <3
